Many of you will be familiar with the work of Professor Steve Peters through his bestselling book ‘ The Chimp Paradox’ and his work to improve performance with a number of high profile sports men and women including British Cycling, Sky Pro Cycling, Liverpool FC and England Football team among others. Prof Peters has taken this model and developed a programme for clinicians, delivered by fellow clinicians, to support wellbeing. This programme has been received with great feedback from GP participants in West Cheshire and has been described as life changing.

Welcome to this month’s blog. I hope that you found last month’s update a useful summary of the work we are undertaking as part of the Care Together programme. I chaired the Programme Board on Thursday 11th February at Dukinfield Town Hall. This meeting is attended by the leaders of all three interested parties (Tameside Hospital NHS FT, Tameside MBC and Tameside & Glossop CCG). We also have representation at that meeting from GM Devolution, NHS England, and Monitor, as the Foundation Trust regulator.
